Ethical products of animals?
How is it possible?
First, I'll let you know, I don't like how the world is going down, because of us humans, all the plastic and stuff! All the megafarms out there, producing more meat, milk and egg, than we can even consume! Luckily I live in Finland! Here are also big farms, but they're nothing when you look at any mid-European or American farm, so yet there is a reason to buy Finnish products.
Then, I have only a small farm, just for our family, we breed rabbits, sheep and goats, just for the amount we need! Meaning meat and milk, eggs I get from family and friends.
Everything animalics I sell, are only sideproduct's. Not even one animal is killed just for the fur or bones! And sheep needs to be shred twice a year anyway, so woolproducts are maybe even more ethic..
Did you know? Rabbits have the smallest carbon footprint of all domestic animals? Also they are relatively cheap to breed, they breed pretty easily (not ''like rabbits'' but anyway), grows fast, and doesn't need as much space or food, as bigger domestics. - And you can use their fur as well as the meat!
In Finland we have a very good animalprotection by law, we have big spacerecommension, i.e. a dwarfsized rabbit need at least 0,5m2, mine have from 0,72m2 up, and meatrabbits from 1,2m2. Rabbits in Finland are not allowed to keep only on wirenetfloors, so they are also more comfortable here! Mine have always a lot of straw and hay to dig in and eat, fresh water applied several times a day if needed.
My sheep, goats (and horses) are on pastures all the summer, they can go outside the stables also in wintertime, if they want to - doors are open, hay and water unlimited and minerals, vitamins etc. given as needed.
Do I have to say, I love my animals?
I love what they give us, as living, and I love what they give us after living. This is my way to honor our nature.
